Recently, Dr. Shuai Liang and Dr. Xuelu Ding`s team from the School of Pharmacy have made new breakthroughs in the commercialization of their scientific research achievements. Their patented "Laser Induced Desorption – Plasma-Based Optical Emission Spectrometry System" has been successfully implemented in practical applications. This system represents an advanced elemental analysis technology that combines laser-induced desorption with plasma based optical emission spectrometry, enabling highly sensitive real-time online detection of multiple chemical elements in both solid and liquid samples. Its broad application scope encompasses various fields, including pharmaceuticals, tobacco, food, and soil, providing robust technical support for quality control and environmental monitoring in these areas.
Over the past few years, Dr. Liang's team has dedicated their efforts to the industrial development and application of atmospheric pressure ion source equipment. They have achieved notable advancements, completing the development of three self-designed devices: the LD-1 and LD-2 ion sources and the PT-1 portable spectrometer, and have engaged in in-depth cooperation with multiple enterprises. The successful commercialization of their patent is anticipated to yield considerable economic benefits for the associated companies and to invigorate research and development efforts within the relevant fields.
